Reading Recommendations
Years 7-9 Reading Suggestions
We all know how important reading is for the development of a child's ideas and understanding and also how much pleasure children gain from reading. Below are some suggestions of novels read by a parents' discussion group, which might suggest some novels your daughter would enjoy. We also give recommendations to the girls in English lessons and in their visits to the library.
The novels discussed include some by Jamila Gavin, Meg Rosoff, Stephenie Meyer, Louisa May Alcott, Cynthia Voigt, Eleanor Updale, Michael Morpurgo and Eva Ibbotson; earlier meetings included novels by Frank Cottrell Boyce, Sally Grindley, Malorie Blackman, Beverley Naidoo, Alan Shearer, Sally Gardner and RL Stevenson.
