U14 netball squad Captain Iona C accepts the Cambridgeshire County Netball Championships trophy from Headmistress Charlotte Avery.
An outstanding set of matches has seen St Mary's Cambridge U14 netball squad become county champions.
The England Schools Netball Association County Championships held at Arthur Mellows Village College on November 18, saw the squad win all of their games on the day and the girls will now represent the county at the East Regional Tournament on January 30, 2010.
They played four round games, and with victories over Sawtry, Ely College, Kings Peterborough and Chesterton (won by default) they came first in their pool to put them straight into the semi finals.
In the semi final they played Cromwell and won their match 4-1, which entered them into the grand final for the championships.
The final was against Sawtry and St Mary's were the victors with a very convincing 8-1 win.
Lara W showed off her excellent defense skills, while both Katie W and Jemima K saw off the competition with superb shooting in all matches.
The East Regional finals will be held in Stanford Le Hope, Essex.
