Once again, the Music team delivered a fantastic and varied Summer Gala concert.
Amongst the many memorable performances was the engaging premiere performance of The Legend of Saint Wite – a work by acclaimed composer Graham Lack for quartet, choir and soloist. The performance was given by our talented chamber choir Allegro with Year 11 Music scholar Flora S singing the solo verses.
We were delighted that composer Graham, who lives in Germany, was able to join us for this UK first and to share the ideas and inspiration behind the work in a pre-concert talk.
Other highlights included a movement from Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.3 performed by the Chamber Strings and a collaboration between the Samba Band and the Senior Orchestra (The Children of Sanchez).
