It was another nail biting weekend for Sara R as she took part in the 2010 AMA International Karate Championships on 27 and 28 February.
The Championships which took place at Sheffield Arena saw 22 Countries put forward teams including Germany, Ireland, France and Iran. Sara was entered by the ESKA Kata Squad in the Under 16 Kata.
Sara showed great courage walking out in front of the thousand of spectators to perform first, leaving no time to mentally prepare and setting the standard for the rest of the competition. As always, Sara performed her Kata with a crisp clean style and despite the standard of the field being very high was delighted to be awarded third place in her category and taking home a Bronze medal for England.
This is a fantastic achievement as it takes hours of practice to reach this standard as well as travelling miles for training.
Headmistress Charlotte Avery will recognise Sara's fantastic achievement in a presentation assembly next week.
