Upper Sixth Art Scholar, Claudia S impressed judges to win the Granta Decorative and Fine Arts Society (DFAS) Young Arts Competition held on Monday 19 July.
Five St Mary's students had their artwork entered into the competition alongside Claudia, after members of the DFAS attended our recent AS & A Level Art Exhibition at the School and were blown away with the standard of work on display.
The competition took place at the Cambridge City Library and featured pieces from six other Cambridge schools and colleges. Claudia's winning painting of a young woman holding a skull will go on display alongside work by professional artists at the annual exhibition of the RBA at the Mall Galleries in London in March 2011.
