Once again the Boarding community at St Mary’s showcased their talents at the annual Charity concert held on 9 March 2010. The Circle of Life was the concept for this year, with the audience seated at candle-lit tables adorned with food and drinks from the various different countries represented in the boarding house including green tea, home made sushi and baklava.
The girls dazzled all with a variety of songs, dance and music from around the world such as a Thai love song performed by Beth B and a martial arts display by Wing M. The show closed with a moving performance of ‘We are the World’ sung by all the boarders as a tribute to the chosen charity ‘ShelterBox’ who deliver aid boxes to countries affected by natural and manmade disasters.
The evening was a great feat of collaboration and organisation by the girls, ably led by Christine K and Katya E our two Head Boarders and raised in the region of £490 for this worthwhile charity.
