For this Year's English trip, Year 7 went to the RSC production of 'Arabian Nights' at the world famous Courtyard Theatre in Stratford on 28 January.
The group of Year 7's were quickly drawn into the strange and magical imagination of Queen Shahrazad as she attempted to use storytelling to save her from certain death.
Taking inspiration from the stories, the girls were asked as part of their English lessons to respond to the production in any way they wished. Some girls wrote a review whilst others designed posters, puppets and models capturing some of the giant beasts and devilish ghouls they had seen on stage.
The English Department were so impressed by the imaginative, colourful entries and the amount of work that had gone into them, that Headmistress Charlotte Avery awarded prizes for the best pieces in a recent assembly.
Girls winning the top prize were each awarded with an authentic 'Shakesbear' and runners-up received magnetic Shakespeares.
