The Pastonians’ Association
| The Pastonians Committee |
The Pastonians take their name from Paston House, the name by which St Mary's was known long before it became St Mary's School. Paston House is the Ruskinesque house next to No. 47, now the 6th Form Centre. The Pastonians' Association came into existence in 1930 and after a short break during the second world war was re-formed in 1946. Its purpose is to enable past pupils to keep in touch with the school and their contemporaries and, most importantly, for the school to follow their progress over the years. The Association is a member of AROPS (The Association of Representatives of Old Pupils' Societies).
Annual AGM and Reunion
Each year the Association holds an annual luncheon and reunion, at the school, to which all members, and also members of staff, are invited.
Magazine
There is a Pastonians' section in the school magazine, published each Christmas, to which members contribute articles in addition to news of themselves, their families and friends. Those members who wish to receive a copy of the Magnolian and Pastonian magazine will need to purchase it via the paperwork attached to the annual AGM/Reunion invitation. However, a free copy of the magazine will continue to be available to those who have honorary or ten or five year memberships.
School Prizes
The Association also provides two prizes each year for the school in memory of Sisters Paul and Christopher, two previous headmistresses.
