Where Will I Be Living?

Some of the Sixth Form accommodation is completely self-contained and located at the top of the school with wonderful views of Cambridge on one side and the University Botanical Gardens on the other. The younger years are in the oldest part of the building, The Elms, with its large and spacious rooms and graceful staircase. The remaining section of the Sixth Form lives in Bateman House just across the road from the School. Every room has a network and broadband internet connection.

What about the food?

Food is very important! Breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner are provided on all days with the addition of a break time snack on weekdays. The weekends are relaxed with flexible times for breakfast and a light brunch, with a more formal meal in the evenings. The boarders are expected to attend all mealtimes where there is a variety of food on offer such as hot dishes, salads and fruit. Students in Years 11 to 13 may eat out on Friday and Saturday evenings with prior permission from the boarding staff.

What happens in the evenings and over the weekends?

There is much on offer at St Mary's. There is an extra-curricular programme run after school on Tuesdays offering a wide range of activities which boarders are expected to join in. In addition, for boarders we also have a dancing class organised by Bodyworks and a craft evening on two nights of the week. Over the weekend, Badminton, tennis, ten pin bowling and yoga are just some of the activities that are also organised for boarders. Sixth Formers are all members of the local fitness centre which they are expected to attend once over the weekend.
