What about the food?

Food is very important! Breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner are provided on all days with the addition of a break time snack on weekdays. The weekends are relaxed with flexible times for breakfast and a light brunch, with a more formal meal in the evenings. The boarders are expected to attend all mealtimes where there is a variety of food on offer such as hot dishes, salads and fruit. Students in Years 11 to 13 may eat out on Friday and Saturday evenings with prior permission from the boarding staff.

There is an active exchange of ideas on food between the catering staff and the girls; the catering staff welcome comments at any time and are keen to provide a wide and healthy range of meals.

Kitchens

Years 11 to 13 have two fully equipped kitchens with a microwave oven, toaster, kettle, refrigerator, freezer and several washing machines and dryers for the Sixth Formers who wish to do their own washing.

Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 also have access to their own kitchen which is similarly equipped, and they have separate laundry facilities.

Fruit, bread, butter, spread, tea, coffee, milk and squash are made available in both kitchens. Girls may also store and cook their own food if they wish.
